CSA Summer Newsletter: August 29th, 2022 (Week 14/23)

Hi Folks,

I like to think of this part of the season as the plateau on the peak.  We keep at this speed of harvesting our faces off and moving lots of food to the people for the next month.  This is not the time to rest!  When we close our eyes it is sacred and when we open them it is scared work!  Our crew of 8 harvesters are harvesting all day! They may sneak in a few hours for transplanting once a week, and Chris will seed for a whole afternoon once a week on the tractor, but other than that it’s full on harvest!  We are pulling in all that you see in your boxes and we are beginning to also bring in our storage crops, future food for the fall shares.  Last week the crew pulled in 8 bins that weigh in the neighborhood of 700-800# of potatoes each.  The majority of them were a variety that we absolutely love from Chris’ neck of the woods called Lehigh, named for Lehigh County.  Soon we will be bringing in our winter squash harvest and then we have carrots, beets, leeks, sweet potatoes, these will also be stored in bins.

Chris and I are putting our heads together and creating the fall share, so keep your eyes peeled for an email about it in the near future!

Since it’s the heart of the season please consider leaving us a review on google.  Since you are in the thick of the season and your opinion is fresh, your review can be super helpful to folks looking for a CSA.  We would greatly appreciate you sharing your first hand experience.  Thank you so much for your support and good appetite.

Your Farmers,

Aeros, Chris and The Who Crew
