Hi Folks,

Well 1st things first.

Please make sure that the pick up site location that you are picking up at is the one you signed up for and have been going to for the last two weeks.  To be sure of this you want to be certain to see your name on the sign in sheet located on the red clipboard at your pick up site.  If your name is not on the list.  Please call me, 814-221-7177.

We have changed the way we pack the boxes at the end of last week.  We have decided it’s best to not have our pack crew do any math other than counting numbers of veggies they are packing into a box.  So hopefully this change leads to less missing items at pick up. We know some of you are missing the old way of getting your own box with your name on it. We are sorry that we are trying to leave this way and move on to a new way, as it's never been a comment that people think it's easy to undo their box, or unpack and repack in their own bags. Change is hard, I know. I'm feeling it, believe me. This hasn't been a piece of cake for us, but we must be the change we wish to see in this world. We want to waste less food and we want less petroleum products used. It's going to take all of us to make great efforts out of our comfort zone, to make these changes a reality. We are stronger together!!!! Thank you for feedback, editing help, insight and all reflections.

We also want to reiterate that at your pick up site: Please take the time to look at the labels on the side of each box. Each label specifies the Vegetable Name, share size, and amount of the vegetable to be taken per share size. 

RAIN!  We got about ¾” on Sunday night and Monday. Then an 1” more on Wednesday.  It was a perfect slow soaking rain!  This slow rain is ideal after a dry spell, as it takes it’s time absorbing into the soil. Verses if the rain comes down quickly it can rush off without getting a chance to sink it.  The colors of the fields are changing and the hills are a darker green. It’s amazing how fast this happens.  This is so excellent for all the transplants in the field to establish and continue growing.  

Things to look forward to in the coming weeks…. Zucchini, & Peas.
