Scallions

Scallions are low in calories and high in water density. They contain Vitamins such as K and C, and folate. Scallions support immune health and support iron absorption.

Storage Tips:

Store in a bag in the fridge, until use. Rinse before use cut off root end, although some folks saute the roots themselves, they are tasty crispy! The entire plant is edible, all the way to the tippy top of the leaves. These are also easy to prep just rinse and cut them into ½” pieces and store in a tupperware for quick easy access to throw on top or in many dishes.

Uses:

Scallions are a good garnish for soups, added into omelets, egg or potato salads, or add to a salad. They are a part of the allium family, and have a crisp, light onion flavor that is slightly spicy and tangy.
