Sweet Mini Yellow Peppers

Howdy Folks,

New this week: We’ve attached a small card to each CSA stop clipboard which has a QR Code that links to our google review page. If you have an extra few moments while picking up your CSA and could leave us a review, we’d greatly appreciate it! Your feedback is essential to us as we make decisions about what to change and what to keep the same, as well as helping potential new customers decide if our CSA could be right for them. We love hearing your thoughts about what is working well and what could be better.  Thank you ahead of time for taking the time to do this.

On the Online Market we have Sweet Carmen Peppers On Sale, and I mean a sale.  We have never sold them at $2/# before, but since we are bringing in so many and we need to move them, they are now available at a record low price.  Two plantings have come on at once.  The first planting got beat up by the row cover in the spring, so it took it’s time to recover and the peppers from this 3 week earlier planting is fruiting the same time as the following planting!   So what could this mean for you?  Frozen peppers this winter perhaps, sweet pepper paste, Frozen stuffed peppers, frozen sliced peppers.  This is what we do with them that we love!  Peppers do not need to be blanched, just slice them and freeze them, although you can roast them and then freeze them as well.  Recipe for Red Pepper Paste, Stuffed Peppers, Freezing Peppers.  There are hundreds of stuffed pepper recipes out there.  I just want to debunk the idea that all the stuffing will fall out of these Carmen peppers because they aren’t a perfect cup shape, like a bell.  They also stuff very well.  Although we also have enough Green and Yellow bell peppers if you prefer to have a thicker walled and less sweet pepper like your more traditional stuffed pepper, we also have bulk bell peppers available on the store sold by the #!

Also don’t forget Bulk 18# half bushels for our Tomatillos, for any Salsa Verde canners out there as well as bulk eggplant for any BABA makers out there.  Babaganoush freezes quite well with a layer of olive oil on top!  Also this is probably our last week for San Marzano, ROMA TOMATOES available in 18# half bushel for you tomato sauce makers out there.

Bulk 18# half bushels for our Tomatillo, Salsa Verde canners out there. Then also bulk eggplant for any BABA makers out there.  Babaganoush freezes quite well with a layer of olive oil on top!   Last but not least Hatch Chillies are also available in bulk, these are great to roast on the grill and then freeze for any sort of winter treat!

The Autumn CSA sign up is almost done!  Registration will be open by the end of the week. Keep an eye out for an email soon!

Cheers,
Your Farmers
