Howdy Folks,

We hope this message finds everyone safe and healthy. We are sorry for being MIA with our news postings online. This is something we have on the top of our list to get back up and rolling this 2021 season.

Here you will some farm news full of opportunities and information about this 2021 season.

We will continue with online plant sales like we did last year, and we’re targeting 2 weeks when a majority of the plants will be ready: the week of 4/21 and the week of 5/8. We will post on social media and also be sending out emails with plant lists/prices and delivery times as we get closer to April. Like last season these will be available through our Online Market. If you are a new to Who Cooks For You Farm the Online Market is how you can purchase pre-orders to pick up at the farmers market, and also how we can sell you our certified organic seedlings of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and beneficial flowers.

We will be continuing with farmers markets, and Market CSA, as well as online ordering for pickup at farmers markets at Squirrel Hill on Sundays and Bloomfield on Saturdays. We will not attend the East Liberty farmers market this year. It is with a heavy heart to let go of this market, but with the loss of our wholesale accounts and the addition of a large CSA, Monday is going to be our day off this year.

We are not taking on any new wholesale accounts at this time. For 2021 will be taking a hiatus from direct farm to restaurant deliveries. With the covid-19 crisis causing limitations to seating and guest volume of 95% of the many fine restaurants we have served over the years their ability to buy produce from us in 2020 greatly reduced. With no foreseeable back to normal dinning in the near future, we needed to take a turn from this avenue of selling our vegetables.

We will not continue to offer Home Delivery this season. This was an extra push for us last season to stay afloat in the drastic changes that we made on the fly when the covid crisis began in order to help our customers stay safe. This season we are trying to reorient and not stretch ourselves too thin. If you have a Market CSA with us, and you were a Home Delivery Customer and you still have credit on your account, please email Aeros at info@whocooksforyoufarm.com. We are thinking that we can grandmother/grandfather you in until your invested funds are fully spent. We are working on these logistics. We are thinking that we will only be able to offer this to limited zip codes.

On a new front, we will be delivering Traditional CSA shares (weekly vegetable boxes) throughout the season to approximately 60 drop sites in and around Pittsburgh. With the purchase of a traditional veggie CSA share, you will, also, be able to add optional shares of local Fruit, Mushrooms and Coffee. We are SO pleased to offer this to all of you. Click here for Information about our Traditional CSA and optional shares.

We are half full with our Traditional CSA and considering the times, we’re certain we’re going to sell out. Please purchase a Traditional CSA if you are interested. We know some people like to complement the Traditional CSA with a Market CSA to fill in the gaps and they say it encourages them to not only eat the staple crops associated with traditional CSA but, also, guarantees them access to ALL of our organic seasonal vegetables.

The local Fruit and local Mushroom shares are first come first serve and only available to our Traditional CSA Members. 30% of our total membership have the opportunity to get a local Fruit and local Mushroom share. That’s all the producers can offer us at this time. Market CSA'ers have access to fruits and mushrooms at the Farmers Markets and we don't want to step on anyone's toes.

We are dreaming of delicious veggies and fruits...We hope you are, too.
Please be in touch if you have any questions or thoughts.

Your Farmers,
Chris and Aeros
