CSA Fall Newsletter: December 19th, 2022 (Week 7/7)

Howdy Folks,

Thank you for joining us for this 2022 Fall Season.  We close this season on the week of the Winter Solstice.  I usually joke around saying that I live like a bear, because it does sort of feel like I go into hibernation come winter time, but definitely the restful slow down to process the past season and project for the next is necessary and natural.

We are about to go on a family road trip to South Texas.  It’s a 26 hour drive from the farm.  We are very excited and it’s taken a lot to get our seed orders and supply orders in for the coming season, but this is not something you can sit on these days.  Some seeds are gone by January of the favorite varieties.  Chris has ordering down to a science with lots of spreadsheets detailing what we order from year to year, from who, what item #, how much we need, what it costs, etc.

Aeros is investigating our multiple website platforms that enable us to have multiple sales channels, and looking to streamline our backend organization, as well as expand our flexibility.  With this troubleshooting and investigation we won’t have the CSA Registration Open until a little into the New Year.  There are many farm oriented platforms available, and none of them are perfect, and all of them will make things just a little different.  We don’t want to rock anyone or ourselves right now, so we are taking this into deep consideration.

So if you want to buy your loved one a CSA for Christmas, which we think is the best idea for a Christmas or New Years Gift, please take a moment to write a nice little note that tells them you will be doing this as soon as the new season registration opens.

We had a great year and we hope you did too!  It’s always so nice to reflect on the past season at this time of year.  Chris and I are back and forth all winter with reflections, new ideas and contemplations.  The one thing Chris and I have missed equally over these last three years is not having get togethers on the farm.  We are determined this is going to change next season.  We are excited to put our heads together to create some opportunities for folks to come out to the farm.

The greenhouse heater got turned off today.  We will freeze out the greenhouse for about a month before we have plants in here again.  This freeze helps us curb disease that loves living in a warm and damp climate.  All of our seeding flats have been washed and sanitized and they are also going through the freeze!  Before we know it we will be heating it back up and seeding seeding!

We will be in touch soon to let you know when our 2023 CSA Registration Opens.  Our hearts are with you as we take this long awaited break, we are so grateful for your support and so thankful for your collaboration.  We wish you all Happy Holidays and lets just all manifest more of our dreams, and cleanse away more of our fears.  Another year as another rotation around the sun, we shall be stronger together as we eb and flow through the cycles and mysteries.  Cheers to the earth that feeds us and all the heavenly bodies that we are and are within.

Your Farmers,

Chris, Aeros and The Who Crew

PS.  We apologize that these last two weeks we haven’t gotten out the sneak peak.  It’s been a whirlwind trying to get our orders in and farm to sleep before we go away for a few weeks.  If you are getting this email you will also get an email as soon as we open up our 2023 registration.  Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding.
