CSA Summer Newsletter: June 5th, 2023 (Week 1/23)

Howdy Folks,

The boxes of produce at your pick up site will no longer be arranged according to weight!  NOW they match the order of your list at the pick up site which should be the same as the list in this email.  Our whole crew and several CSA members have put heads together this past weekend to make significant changes to make this style pick up easier with more members and multiple share sizes compared to our launch of this style this spring.

Another difference this week.  The labels are bigger!  The labels on the boxes at the pick up site have the name of the veggies in the box as well as the share size and how many each share is to take out of the box.  If your share size is not listed on a box, that item is not in your share.

The boxes are in order of S< M<L. So the first 5 items in the line are for Small, Medium & Large, then the next two items are for medium and large, then the last box or boxes have only items for large shares.  Please always look at the labels on the side of the box and be sure that each item has your share size name on it before taking an item.

We have added a new office member to the Who Cooks crew, Shannon.  She’s a jack of all trades, helping us get stuff done around so if you hear from anyone else, it’s most likely Shannon.  Right now she is helping us add on egg shares.  We have some more half dozen and dozen available, so if you are interested in getting them, please be in touch.

We thank you all for your patience as we refine the new pick up system.  This new system is being implemented to benefit you and the earth.  Your patience and effort in understanding and implementing this new system are greatly appreciated.  We are stronger together, and together we are making changes so that you waste less food, getting more food you enjoy and less food you don't like, also we are packing it in less boxes, making room for more people at small locations and less packaging waste.  Thank you so much for hanging in and helping us make these changes that need to be made as we make our collective footprint lighter.

If you wrote to me last week and have yet to hear back from me.  You should have a reply very soon.  I am catching up on my emails.

We are currently experiencing a pretty long dry spell, and the farmers almanac is calling for a hot dry summer, so we’ll see what the rest of the season has in store for us.  We try our best to be present and positive, so we are happy that right now the weather is making the strawberries sweet!  Have a great week!

Your Farmers,

Chris, Aeros and the Who Crew!

PS.

Why did the tomato blush?

Because he saw the salad dressing!
