Nutrition Information:

Turnips are a member of the cruciferous family. Both the root and the leaves can be eaten, and are rich in nutrients such as Vitamins C, K, and A, as well as Calcium, and Folate. Turnips may promote bone health, protect liver health and promote anti-inflammatory effects.

Storage Tips:

Turnips like the cold, and are best kept as cold as possible without reaching freezing temps. They should be stored in loose plastic bag with a moist cloth, and can store for months. To freeze turnips, blanch, pat dry, and spread on an even layer on a baking tray, then move to a freezer bag once frozen.

Uses:

Turnips can be boiled and mashed, shredded and added to salads and coleslaws, added to soups and stews, cubed and added to roasts in slow cookers, or baked in the oven.
